Getting ready to sell!

Well I have made two more charm bracelets ready for when I start to sell all of this stuff! This one as you can see I have made in tones of Blue. The big beads are Indian Glass beads, and there are also Swarovski AB clear 4mm Bicone beads, Opalite chips and some dangles made with white bugle beads and blue seed beads.

After seeing how well The Opalite chips went with the Purple's of the previous charm bracelet I wasn't sure how they would work with other colours. But I have to say they look gorgeous with blue! They seem to morph into the colour that you use them with. With this blue they look fresh and calm.

With the red charm bracelet they look fiery and dare I say it a bit sexy! lol. I am going to have to get a lot more of them, so I can make one for every colour of the rainbow!

All the jump rings were made by myself after watching a webisode by Plum and Verdigris. If you haven't already then you should watch all of their webisodes because they are packed full of ideas and techniques that you will find very helpful. So as Tamara Berg says I am going to get out there and make something beautiful!!

Another new necklace!

Hello!
Well I finally managed to get some pics of my latest creation done. I am really pleased with this one. The inspiration came from an American magazine that I bought from ebay. Its called Step by Step Wire Jewelry and its an amazing magazine. I am currently trying to source their back issues but not having any luck :( Oh well I will just have to keep at it.

This style is called a torque necklace and it is sort of like a bangle for the neck. I have wire wrapped the main body of the necklace in the same way that I did on the bangles from previous posts. I really like the way that it gives the wire a very silky sheen and sits smoothly next to the neck.

I used purple permanent colour copper craft wire in 22g for the spirals and I added some Swirovski AB clear 4mm Bicone beads for some extra sparkle, I love them and use them on everything! Also all of the silver wire used is Silver plated wire in 18g and 24g.

Having made this one there are a few things that I will do differently next time. I am still not happy with the shaping of it. As I don't have a necklace mandrel and no way of getting one at the moment I think I will have to come up with something else. Any ideas? leave a comment and let me know because I think this one will have me scratching my head for a while! lol

Wow I have been busy!

OK so I know it has been a while , but I have been busy I swear!

I bought some miracle beads online not really knowing what they were like and when I got them through I LOVED THEM!! I had to use them on something straight away,
and I knew exactly what. I had had an idea for a pair of jangly earrings floating around for a few days and knew these beads where perfect. So I sat down and a little while later there they where. They looked just like they had in my mind. That is something that doesn't usually happen to me. Most of the time I have a vague idea of what I'm aiming for and not much else. So most of my finished piece's are nothing like the idea that originally triggered them. So I am very happy with these... I have had a few comments about them when I've worn them out and have taken great pride in telling people that I made them myself.

I also bought myself some Beadalon wire. I already had some crimps and my newly acquired crimping pliers. This necklace just sort of grew in my hands. It started of just playing with all of my new things and I looked down and this necklace was sitting there. I really love the colours in it. The bits of shell were on sale at my local craft shop and just leaped into my basket! Its like they wanted me to take them home :)

This is my first go at a very simple Torque necklace. When I first heard the words Torque necklace, I had no idea what one was. So i Googled it. I found out that it is a bit like a cuff bangle but for the neck. This one I did in a similar style the bangles in the previous post. It is very simple but I an pleased with the way that it turned out. I have a few ideas on how I could do different ones so I will let you know if I come up with anything.

My first order! yay!

Good morning all!

Ok Wow! I'm very excited today because yesterday I got my first order for one of my pieces! Yay me lol. Its from this lovely lady who works with my S.I.L. I've Finished making it now and SIL will take it to work on Thursday for her. I will post some pics later today. It is the same as one I have already made, just in a different colour way. Here is the design that she wanted. I have also found a much better way of rounding the ends of the bangle so that there are no edges that come into contact with the skin. The one that she ordered has Turquoise wire instead of the purple that you can see in this one, and also it has blue seed beads instead of purple ones. I love it ( well I would!) lol. Here is pic of the colour that she has asked for. I am very happy with the way that it turned out. Next I am going to make some sort of box to put it in. I was thinking of a pillow box but I'm not sure. I will have to scratch my head for a bit longer I think. Again I will post the pics if that when I have them too. Ok well Bye for now. I'm off to get some breakfast!

So... Lets start at the beginning.

Hi, my name Is Kaylie and I'm a Jewellery addict!
There I've said it! That wasn't so hard... lol.

Welcome to my blog!!!

Jewellery is something that I have always been in love with. Silver jewellery in particular. I have made a few necklaces and bracelets in the past but have never seriously had a go until a few months ago. I decided to set my self the task of making a few of the Xmas presents for some of my friends and family. That's when I remembered one of the webisodes that I had seen on Plum & Verdigris, (which sadly is no longer running :( ) called the Trixie Two step.
Well I watched this video and knew immediately what I was going to make!. I went and gathered my supplies and ended up making three,
all with co-ordinating earrings and necklaces. Then I started to play around with different beads and bought some AB clear Swarovski crystals from ebay to make a special version for my mum. (Who is a complete magpie so I knew she would be happy with them!) Anyway here is the result....

I used Silver plated 18 gadge wire to make the jump rings and SP 26 gadge wire to wrap all the dangles on. The big purple beads are Indian glass beads and the chips are bits of Opalite, that I also baught on ebay, which is my mums favorite stone. Well there is no stopping me now!

After that my imagination just ran away with me, I was hooked! I was litteraly dreaming of jewellery! It has been pretty none stop since then. At the momment I am working on a series of bangles...... My best friend, * wave *, loves this and has put in an order for this, so I will making that in the next few days.
